Effective master scheduling is one of the most important instructional leadership decisions a school leader makes. This virtual event will help K–5 leaders examine how the daily, weekly, and annual use of instructional time can either accelerate or limit student learning. Participants will consider how schedules can protect core instruction, provide consistent intervention and enrichment time, support collaborative planning, reduce loss of learning time, and create more equitable access to grade-level academic success for every student.

Rather than treating scheduling as an operational task, this session frames scheduling as an instructional leadership practice directly connected to student achievement, educator effectiveness, and continuous improvement. Team Tipton County, including Heather Crowson and Amber Wiley, and the Collierville Team, including Kristie Murin, will share practical examples of how leaders can use student data, staffing patterns, intervention needs, collaborative planning structures, and progress monitoring routines to build schedules that improve academic outcomes in grades K–5.

Participants will leave with a leadership lens for evaluating whether their current schedules protect instructional priorities, provide timely academic supports, and align school resources with the learning needs of students. The event is designed for administrators who are responsible for creating the conditions that allow teachers and students to succeed.
