Strengthen leadership where instruction matters most: the Tier 1 classroom. Instructional Leadership and Principal Support for Tier 1 Classrooms 2026 is a 4-hour virtual professional learning opportunity designed for Tennessee school and district leaders who want to strengthen the daily systems of support that help teachers and students succeed.

Participants will explore how principals and instructional leaders can more intentionally support academic coaches, conduct meaningful classroom walkthroughs, participate in PLCs, and create schedules that protect time for collaboration, coaching, intervention, and instructional follow-up. The focus is on helping leaders build supportive routines and structures that make strong Tier 1 instruction more consistent across classrooms.

This event is appropriate for principals, assistant principals, instructional supervisors, academic deans, instructional coaches who support schoolwide improvement, district instructional leaders, and leadership teams. Through curated sessions, facilitated assessments, and applied reflection, participants will consider how leadership decisions about coaching roles, walkthrough practices, PLC expectations, and master scheduling can strengthen the instructional support teachers receive.

Leaders who complete the training will be better prepared to support principals, academic coaches, and school leadership teams as they clarify coaching responsibilities, strengthen walkthrough feedback cycles, participate meaningfully in PLCs, and design schedules that allow time for collaboration and support. The 2026/2027 needs assessment identified a need to examine potential gaps in Tier 1 instruction and share effective strategies for creating a more cohesive learning experience for all students.
