Across Tennessee, school leaders are being asked to move beyond compliance-based improvement plans and identify the leadership practices that actually produce measurable growth for students. This virtual TASL event will examine what successful and improving schools are doing consistently to strengthen instruction, use data well, support educators, and sustain a culture of continuous improvement. Confirmed presenters Deanna Jones, Collierville Schools, and Terri Stevenson, Weakley County Schools, will share practical perspectives on school improvement and highlight leadership actions that support measurable growth.

Participants will explore how successful schools align vision, instructional expectations, educator collaboration, intervention systems, progress monitoring, and resource decisions around student achievement. Requested by TOSS ALI membership, this session frames school improvement as the daily work of instructional leaders who study evidence, identify high-leverage practices, support teachers, and adjust plans based on results. The session may also serve as a foundation for additional, less formal cohort conversations this fall as members continue exploring what successful schools are doing to grow.
