ou can’t unpack the standards until you fully understand the key differences between skills and standards. This very engaging day will focus on how to back map instruction with Vertical Teaming and Essential Questions to really begin the work of polishing our classroom instruction to be rigorous, meaningful, and constantly improving. We will discuss how to view and participate in PLC work that helps teachers understand writing in all curriculum areas to the Tennessee State TN READY rubric. The afternoon sessions will feature rich discussion on what you as a school or system leader can do to help students master skills so that they can master standards. We are not unpacking the Tennessee TN READY standards here, but we are learning how leaders can support teacher in that very meaningful work. We will end the day with discussions on how to plan to support teachers and students over time.
