Successfully handling chronic absenteeism, and improving school culture through positive behavioral supports
Agenda:
Networking Breakfast A light breakfast will be provided and table time to visit with fellow school leaders.
8:00-8:45 Jamie Jordan from Clinton City Schools will present on the All Star Attendance program that she implemented to cut their chronic absenteeism rate by 6%. One school saw a reduction from over 20% to less than 8%.
8:45-9:30 Shane Bailey from Rogersville City will present on The Warrior Way. He will discuss both positive behavioral supports
and protocols implemented to improve school culture.

9:45-10:30 Devona Smith and Robbie Somerville from Sequatchie County will present their successful school wide attendance reward system model and support program.
10:30-11:15 Greg Sturgill from Hawkins County will discuss
their work on chronic absenteeism in his district. He will us understand how the student management system can begin the process so that we are both aware of the problem and ready with supports
11:15-11:45 Morning Review
11:45-12:30 Lunch on site (provided by TOSS ALI)
12:30-1:15 Angie Gill from Bradley County Schools will show how her district was able to reduce their chronic absenteeism rate close to 50% in some schools. We will be learning from someone who has the data to show us what works to both identify and address this issue.
1:15-2:00 Buffy Wyrosdick from Blount County will take us on a journey with her in her school. Eagleton Elementary has found a way to create a fun and competitive environment encouraging attendance. We will see how they post their results using fun diagrams.

2:10-3:00 Lisa Earby from Cleveland City Schools is a master at understanding the needs of elementary school students. She has plan to inspire principals to step up their game and she will help us learn from her actions in Cleveland City.
