Mathematics Instruction for Tier 1 Success

  • Arlington Community Schools 12060 Arlington Trail Arlington, TN, 38002 United States (map)

THIS EVENT IS TASL CREDIT APPROVED!

The compilation of mathematics content is a mastery-based collection of standards.  The expected student behaviors that demonstrate mastery of these standards must center on learning "how" to think instead of "what" to think.  However, more guidance is needed to assist teachers with reaching desired instructional and academic progress goals.  It is the responsibility of districts, schools, and teachers to design the curriculum and instruction that enable their students to meet the expectations of these rigorous standards.

This session will introduce participants to research-based strategies that are beneficial for success with Tier 1 instruction as aligned to expected student behaviors in the College and Career Readiness Standards for Mathematics.  Participants will receive strategies framed by The Workshop Model for teaching and learning that will assist in facilitating the learning process and enable students to be successful thinkers and learners of mathematics.
