Moving Women Up the District Ladder EAST 2019

  • Lenoir City Schools 200 E. Broadway Lenoir City, TN (map)

**TASL Credit Approved!**

The year is 2019. Do we still need programs for aspiring female leaders in this modern era? Do you ‘think’ you are ready for the next level, but you aren’t really sure how to move ahead?

AASA’s “Study of the American Superintendent: 2015 Mid-Decade Update” found  that women held only 27% of the nation’s superintendencies, and most of those were in small rural and suburban districts. That figure was up from only 13% in 2000.  Women comprise 76% of the K-12 teaching positions and 52% of all principalships.

TOSS ALI would like to invite our members to  think about their preparation and readiness for ‘the next level”. We want to help empower women, help them be more aware of their options,  and introduce  the need for both coaching and mentoring in the preparation toward  their ‘dream jobs.”

This event will feature presentations by Debra Cline, Brenda Dean and Vickie Violette. These women have worked in public schools, universities, and in the private sector. They will help you see how their career choices prepared them for their current roles.  During this one day event, principals, assistant principals, and supervisors will hear these leaders share their prospective from higher education, state department of education, CEO, and other levels.
