When our organization moved to virtual events due to Covid-19, opportunities opened up for us that we would never have been able to have if we were still able to meet in person. We can now have presenters in one event from Memphis to Mountain City, Tipton County to Cleveland, and all points in between.
Join us on 3.16.2021 for a 7 hour TASL approved learning adventure.
More than a Number: How Leadership and Learning can Change Lives will feature a full team presenting on their work ‘as a team’ to improve learning for all students in their system in the morning and then school leaders from three different system’s sharing their work in the afternoon.
From 8:30 -11:00 am (central time) we will hear from the Tipton County team. They will be sharing their work to improve reading, introduce and support high quality materials, and all things that must be done within a community to support excellence in education.
The Tipton County presenters will include Brooke Shipley, Varissa Richardson, James Fields, and Courtney Fee. Implementing High Quality Literacy Materials in Elementary Schools will be just one part of their morning presentation to highlight both instruction and leading learning through professional development. This team will share what they have done to implement their newly adopted reading series in year one. They will share professional development ideas that were implemented as well as the work they did to fully support teachers as they implemented and utilized the new materials. Also discussed will be the revamping of the discipline and alternative school referral process. Learn how this system attempted to handle truancy during Covid-19. You will learn from seeing what a day in the life of a Pupil Services Supervisor looks in 2021. The team will discuss the intellectual preparation necessary for teachers to excel. The team features three supervisors and one principal and this is just one short part of the morning session. You will hear from a variety of perspectives all morning as they share their work with our attendees.
After we hear from TOSS Platinum Partner, Capturing Kids' Hearts, as they share a quick highlight of their work, we will break to listen, share, and learn from our own teams from 11:00- 11:30 am.
Then we will return to hear from principals across our state share their work.
Autumn O’Bryan, Staci Graves, Celina Benere, and Chris Hawkersmith will share with us their focus on learning with supports, including work to improve school climate, support social-emotional connections, create a trauma informed faculty, and leading learning in 2020/2021. They will also discuss real world and immediate strategies for success. For example, Celina and Chris will cover the importance of relationships on the social and emotional stability of their students. In addition, they will dive deeply into how this work can impact grades and change how teachers teach and much much more.
Don’t miss this first of its kind TOSS ALI event…your team could be asked to be next on our ‘More than a Number’ learning series of events.
*To receive (7) TASL Credits, MUST attend both morning & afternoon sessions*
