Summary

Many employers are understandably overwhelmed by the magnitude and dynamic nature of the evolving Health Care Reform law.  This presentation focuses on the rules that create responsibilities for employers between now and 2015, such as the Free Rider Penalty and a number of new plan design mandates, fees, and administrative obligations.  We will summarize each of the provisions, break down the requirements into specific steps, and help participants create their own action plans.  We will also answer frequently asked questions about the rules, provide tips for compliance, and identify resources available for employers who would like additional information or assistance.

Learning objectives

1. Describe the Health Care Reform provisions impacting employers that require action between now and 2015.

2. Analyze how the rules apply to educational organizations and their unique staffing arrangements and could impact the structure of their workforce going forward.

3. Identify the district’s health plans and administrative practices that may need to be revised.
