Tennessee Digital Resource Library: Enabling the Transition to Digital Learning

The Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents (TOSS) and Apple invite you to join us for this leadership workshop. The day will focus on embracing the new Tennessee Digital Resource Library (TDRL) for your schools. Attending superintendents can earn three hours of CEO credit.

The vision of TDRL is to embrace the potential offered by digital technology for the delivery of content in all classrooms throughout Tennessee. This vision can be accomplished as students are engaged with content that inspires their natural curiosity and parallels the world in which they function outside the classroom. The Tennessee Digital Resources Library is designed to help school districts use and share open educational resources, which are aligned to Tennessee standards thus helping our teachers as they deliver content in the classrooms.  In order for districts to accomplish this vision, they need to develop a comprehensive plan that enables the transition to digital.

Topics for this session will include:

-Explore strategic ideas to move from traditional textbooks to digital learning

-Hands-on experience with TDRL to explore the curated digital resources.

-Engage with rich learning materials like apps, videos, books, podcasts, and primary resources to ease with the transition to digital learning.

-Ensure that the culture and structure of the school can engage students inside and outside of the classroom.

-Embrace new technologies that optimize the use of digital devices.

-Empower the potential of learning anywhere, anytime, and any place.

Who Should Attend?

Attendees should be a team of SLI or ALI members (minimum of 3 is preferred) per district; Superintendent, Chief Academic Officer, Assessment Director, Principal and others at the discretion of the Superintendent.

The Tennessee School Boards Association, in partnership with the Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents (TOSS), Tennessee Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (TASCD), the Tennessee Educational Technology Association (TETA) and the American Public Education Foundation collaborated to launch the Tennessee Digital Resources Library (TDRL), making digital educational content available free.
