Building Your District Safety Plan: Tennessee Safety Plan Training/Hands-On Work Sessions

TOSS, in collaboration with the Tennessee Department of Education and NaviGate Prepared, is offering full day training sessions in January on the new Tennessee district and school safety plan templates. The safety plan templates have been developed by the DOE and TEMA with input from school districts across the state.

To assist in the completion and maintenance of your safety plans, TOSS has partnered with NaviGate Prepared offering a Tennessee Safety Plan Wizard which breaks down each safety plan into a series of questions, thus reducing complexities and streamlining the creation of the safety plans. Through its partnership with TOSS, NaviGate Prepared is providing the Safety Plan Wizard to Tennessee schools at no cost.

The purpose of the training sessions is to train everyone on the new safety plan templates, the NaviGate Prepared Safety Plan Wizard, allow you the opportunity to start to put your safety plans together, and provide you with other best practices around school safety.

The intended audience is superintendents and the person(s) most responsible for your district’s safety plan. 

The state is emphasizing the importance of the involvement of your local EMA in putting your safety plan together. You have the option of including a representative from your local EMA on your team at this work session

The training sessions will run from 9:00 – 4:00 with lunch provided.
