Each year, Dr. Shelton (TOSS ALI Executive Director) asks our state’s superintendents to nominate leaders who can serve as ‘best practices’ presenters for our Tennessee Organization of School Superintendent’s professional development events. These are informal, virtual events where the presenters are asked to share with principals, assistant principals, and supervisors for 30 minutes to 1 hour around a topic of interest in their work.
As a former school counselor, Dr. Shelton thought it was important to follow our June 2, 2021 event with a Counselor’s Best Practice event that highlights how the Principal, Counselor partnership or the Principal/Assistant Principal/ Counselor Triad can be instrumental in building a strong school culture. This partnership is invaluable to building a happy, healthy, high performing school.
This event will feature four school counselors recommended by their Superintendents. These professionals will add a unique and varied perspective as they follow up the June 2 Trauma Informed Schools event.
Presenters will include William Feck from Bedford County, Kristi Knitter from Murfreesboro City Schools, Amanda Adams from Rutherford County Schools, and Laura Richardson from Tipton County Schools.
In order to feature all four presenters, we will begin at 8:00 am and will end at 12 noon Central Time. This event will be conducted in a VIRTUAL ZOOM format.
