What Should Administrators Know About Creating and Administering Assessments? December 13, 2022 (8:30AM-12:30PM CST)

(SchoolNet and Leaders)

Each summer, we reach out to our TOSS ALI subscribers and ask them what sessions they want to have on our calendar for the coming year. This year, one of the most requested sessions for our leaders was on formative assessments, test item banks, and using Schoolnet. On December 13, 2022, we will be providing one last session around this topic titled ‘What Should Administrators Know About creating and Administering State Assessments?

After having multiple events this fall on the topic of assessment, this final 2022 session will close out our work on the topic. This training is sponsored by TOSS Platinum partner, Pearson, and will offer all attendees an opportunity to learn more about test item banks, formative assessments, and creating and co-authoring tests using Schoolnet.

We will begin with the basics and then deep dive into the test types shared with all districts in Tennessee. You will learn how to locate and administer the practice materials you are given, how to create an account and how to log in and easily manage the Schoolnet site. Of course, you will learn how to set up user types and use passwords, but more importantly, you will learn how to use Schoolnet with STUDENTS.

From seeing an overview of the student experience to creating sample tests at the district level for administration to all schools in your district, you will navigate through the valuable possibilities and learn how to co-author tests, create, and share item banks, and use Schoolnet as a data source for your school’s students.

Data that is available on the reporting dashboard will be reviewed at the district, school, and teacher level and you will learn how Schoolnet allows you and your staff to see where your students are on their progress toward a standard immediately upon completion of their test in this application.

The lead presenter for this event will be Kathleen Myers. Kathleen currently serves as the Implementation Manager with Pearson, and she comes to us with over 12 years of experience supporting Schoolnet for both states and districts across the USA. Ms. Myers has a degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University and a background in training, documentation, collaborative decision making, and mitigation. Her goal is to help you improve and ‘own’ the Schoolnet program and this process so that you can successfully deploy it in your district.
