Self Injury, Suicide Prevention and Response: Dealing with Trauma
Oct. 6th & 7th (1:00 - 3:00 PM CDT)
Background: On September 29th, Dr. Shelton shared her story and helped our ALI members focus on safety planning, crisis intervention, and on September 30th, our attendees heard from Dr. Dewey G. Cornell, a noted expert on school safety planning.
This event can been considered a follow up to that safety training mentioned above, but it can also be a 4 hour TASL credit stand alone series.
On October 6 & 7th, we will move into a less formal discussion of the ‘student’ in school safety planning process. Dr. Shelton will present information on student self-image, depression, bullying, hazing, and emotional trauma. This two day, 4 hour event will feature discussion, group interaction, and you will receive a PowerPoint with the materials you will need fully embedded so that you can take this introductory ‘show’ back to your schools. Whether you can attend all of these safety days, or only these two, you will walk away with a tool kit to help you help your staff feel safe. This is NOT a COVID 19 safety event, but we can talk about that too if time allows.
MUST ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS (Oct. 6th and 7th) TO RECEIVE 4 TASL CREDITS
