Unfinished Learning: Regaining, Evaluating, and Planning - April 22, 2021 (9:00AM - 12:00 PM CDT)

We have spent weeks, months even hearing people outside our schools talk about learning loss, but we know that children can grow and learn in the most difficult times.  Hurricane Katrina in 2005, a 2009 influenza pandemic in South America, and other similar events impacted student access to learning. This event will take what educators know about learning and disruptions in learning and recommend ways that we can mitigate and restore the unfinished learning based on the most recent interruption, COVID-19.  This event is sponsored by one of our partners, Education Advanced, Inc. and is facilitated by Deb Malone Sauberer, who many of you will remember from her days at the TDOE as our assessment ‘go to’ person.

In my most recent poll of your needs for ALI, Unfinished Learning was your number one most requested topic for immediate presentations.  We have planned an immediate event that will be both interactive and engaging…filled with polls, discussion, and a real look at what the data says about our current situation.  Join us to discuss with your fellow educators what we can do to help all our students’ “finish” their learning in 2021.
